This item is wonderful, I love it. We have one guinea pig and she seems very happy. because she's an older guinea pig and can't really make it up the ramp, we took the upper level out to give her more room but other than that it is a perfect product. it is sturdy and safe with enough room for a medium pellet bowl,water bottle hay feeder,wood hutch and still room to scamper and play. the stand seemed a bit low so we just put the cage on a small table. in conclusion this is truly a excellent cage and I would recommend it to anyone with 1-2 cavies.See all 23 customer reviews... As a guy my only way of shopping is amazon.com, 100% satisfied with Amazon, especially the Prime program and super fast shipping. BUT, who is the "buyer" for pet supplies? I picked this item based on the poor reviews on all the other pet stairs in XL size, this item sounded "great". First impression, NO quality control. The wood used to build the item, especially sides and support piece were cracked and split with the grain, thick enough for for say a quarter at the beginning and two at the end. We have 2 Aussie terrier pups that will ultimately grow to 18+ pounds. We tried the Kyjen Outward Hound but was disappointed in how the front of the seat collapses while installed. The Kyjen is rated to 20 pounds, but I wouldn't trust it. This product by Solvit is far more substantial and will hold the specified claimed weight, but I don't know why a 40# dog would even need a car seat to look out. If for a smaller dog, there is plenty of room for sleeping. The seat is easily installed/removed and collapses easily. The only negative point is the lack of color selection by the manufacturer.
