I bought two (2) of these one for the top and one for the bottom of the stairs. My one year old uses them as his own personal jungle gyms and they hold up well but, the gates were extremely complicated to install. I'm pretty handy, I have built houses for years, and I'm also proficient with electrical installations, plumbing, heating and finish carpentry. Normally I'd expect a project like this to take no more than 15 minutes and the second gate should be easier than the first.
