The viscosity appears to be a little thicker (fifty-weight rather than forty-weight) but otherwise there isn't any difference I can tell. Even smells the same. I tried giving the recommended dosage but, just like commercial dog food companies, it was a 'way larger dose than my dog needed at 75 lbs. Backyard got kind of soupy, if you know what I mean. When I backed off the dosage to half that recommended everything was fine, however the fecal matter is still a bit too soft for my preference. (This was also true with Bear Treats.) We followed the instructions, however when the gate is tight enough to the walls to not slide, the door becomes too tight. We need both hands to open it. I prefer the Summer Infant door mechanism. I think perhaps if we had used the cups that screw into the wall, we wouldn't have had to make the tension so tight and it would have opened with one hand.
