These are stairs - a slight step up from the inclined plane - a device known to man before fire. They work effectively for small pets, and have been tested for children up to five (though this use is not advised). Construction is very simple and the carpet is a nice touch. The product is reminicent of dorm-room furniture, though. It is utilitarian, rather than presentable, if you catch my drift. Some small and very long dogs, such as our dachshund (whom we have been stretching since birth) may find going down the stairs difficult at first.
