Did your guy use Marineland ML Double Bright LED Light, 36-Inch, 48-Inch

I purchased this to replace a dual tube fluorescent hood light. My 48" aquarium is enclosed in a built-in wall location, and heat generation was a problem. Unfortunately, the LED fixtures suffer from two problems: (1) The "shimmering" effect touted in the item description is more like watching a neon light in its last throes before total failure. It is annoying to the point of intolerability!The problem is the point source lighting interfacing with the moving surface of the water. It could be solved by diffusing the light through a milky or "ground glass" type diffuser.
